Continuing with Apple "Apple II Forever " Slogan of the time, the IIGS establish a promising future and evolutionary progress of the Apple II line, but Apple put little attention to this line as the company focused more and more on the Macintosh platform.
The Apple IIGS was the first computer produced by Apple to use a graphical user interface of color, as well as the "Platinum " (light grey) combination of colors and also in using the Apple Desktop Bus interface for keyboards, mice and other devices of Input. It was also the first personal computer that came with a synthesizer chip "Wavetable " based on integrated sampling, which uses Ensoniq technology. The machine outsold all other Apple products, including the Macintosh, during its first year of production
